Menagerie Rugby Club, a D2 Senior Women’s Club based out of Northeast Minneapolis seeks a coach for 2021/22. This diverse group of women makes a yearlong commitment to play high-quality rugby, strengthen women's rugby in Minnesota, and have fun!
The selected candidate will be offered a one-year contract with benefits including social membership with the club and reimbursement of travel expenses.
Description of Duties:

Direct organized and efficient practices two evenings per week during the fall and spring seasons

Typically Tues/Thurs 6-8 pm in NE Minneapolis

Attend all league matches that will be scheduled in the Fall & Spring seasons

Attendance at non-league matches strongly encouraged

Determine final match selections

Improve all aspects of on-field rugby development, from individual player skill growth to team success
-
Build and communicate winning rugby strategy
-
Set example of professionalism, dignity, and club pride both on and off the pitch

Encourage player attendance of club events and fundraisers as well as general volunteer work with the club itself.

Conduct individual player evaluations at each season’s end upon request of the player

Feedback can simply include, but is not limited to, two strengths and two areas of improvement

Assist the Executive Board in promoting and moving toward accomplishment of Team goals as established at the Annual General Meeting. Goals for the 2021 season include:

To get 20+ people to people to every practice. Personal commitment to reduce soft reasons for missing practice and focus during dedicated practice time.

Recruit a minimum of 5 new players with retention of a minimum of 3 new players per year. The board will focus on additional retention ideas.

Active players will participate in 3 fundraisers a year to help to fundraise. The board will provide numerous fundraising functions to reach this goal.

To work out a minimum of 3 times a week in the off-season. To work out a minimum of one time outside of practice during the season. We must continue.

Provide input to the Executive Board on decisions important to the coach’s improvement of the team and advancement toward team goals
Desired Skills / Qualifications:

Individual must have (or be able to obtain) Level 200 USA Rugby coaching certification

Certification should be acquired within one year of hire if not previously obtained

Individual must possess organizational skills, such as planning and coordinating practices
-
Individual must be reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
-
Individual must be able to work independently, while taking input from team captains and the Executive Board into account
-
Individual must have computer skills with online capability

Individual must possesses strong communication skills and be able to present themselves in front of large groups
