Menagerie Vs. University of Illinois - September 22nd, 2007

Match #1 Saturday, September 22nd brought the first of 2 matches; the first against a slightly in-experienced college side. This is not spectacular in itself except for the glaring fact we had 16 players (to start the day).

It was a great start though - even with a slow start using un-contested scrums. This quickly changed around scrum #4 where Detour pointed out "hey Sir, they are pushing against us now, can we engage?" (although maybe not quite so elegantly stated.)

Anyway, I lost my pencil at the beginning of the first match against Illinois. The score was ALOT for US to 5 for them.

Menagerie Vs. University of Iowa - September 22nd, 2007

Match #2 Our second match of the day pitted us against the Collegiate Division II National Champions, Iowa State. Congratulations Iowa State - way to represent!!

We were down 0-15 at half. 2nd half one Menagerie player went down. Then another. And another. (Thanks Lani for being there!!) We were allowed to play our one extra player who had already left the field (otherwise we would have played with 12). Iowa scored early in the 2nd half. But fighting hard with 13 players, we came back and scored in the 22nd minute of the 2nd half. Mary made the conversion. Final score 7-20.

The rest of our season is LEAGUE - let's go Menagerie!!
